Thinking Of Adding Text Box Above Add To Cart

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
Hello!

First of all, I tend to experiment with a lot of new ideas and design styles so I would greatly appreciate any thoughts you all have about any aspect of the site.

I am thinking about adding a small text box on the product page above the "add to cart button" in which I will put a bullet list of benefits.I'm hoping to keep all of the info needed to make the choice to buy above the fold. I am also toying with the idea of taking away the scratch & save just to clean up the look/page.

thanks!

    Dear Kristen,

Before you add your bullet list you need some uniformity on
around the instructional elements of your page.

At the moment your "Add to cart" link is light text on a dark background, then your "Add to Wish list" button is dark text on a
light background, THEN, your "Send this page to a friend" button
is the same as the "Add to wish list" button but the type face is
either different in size, or in density, or it's a variety on another font, I can't tell which, but the sizes here need to be consistent
and the "Add to cart" button needs to stand out the most.

At least, it does if that's what you want people to do. Might it be better to fix these issues, then come back with two different versions of your proposed bullet list: one with, one without?

That way, we can go from there.

Whoops! Sorry about the repeated "to".

It's way too early on a Sunday morning; the coffee is yet to kick in.

Compare your example page with a similar page from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/BAGGU-Reusable-Shopping-Tote-Peacock/dp/B001037QJY/r...

They've spent a lot of time and $ creating a shopping experience that's glitch-free. Notice: ratings by customers prominently featured, location of add to cart/wish list buttons, description, and images.

Thank you SO much to everyone. Having just returned from the trade shows in NY I will not shift my focus back to using all of the very valuable advice. Much appreciated!
