    Dear Kevin,

Have you considered using a title that's a little more engaging
than "Kevin J Houston Entrepreneur, Life & Business Coach and Author"?

No one cares about the entrepreneur bit, they care about life coaching. No one cares about your title as an author: you can make use of that elsewhere on your site, perhaps in a side bar where you ask people "Have you read my book?", with a link to an appropriate sales page.

I normally caution AGAINST names that are "catchy" because it's not a selling strategy. So, consider some life enhancing keywords in your title, in your domain name, and in your copy.

And then there's your photograph, all on its Jack Jones, off to one side WAY over on the right hand side of the page where frankly, it might as well be invisible.

And think about this: you're a life coach for goodness sake! Which means you also need to SMILE in your photograph. At the moment you look as miserable as sin (you really do) which does your credibility and approachability no good at all.

And write about your audience and what they'll learn, discover, enjoy, unearth, and be drawn toward.

To increase search rankings, put video on your page, a nice, welcoming, friendly, information-packed video. It does NOT have to be 3 hours long: 5 minutes is plenty. Just make it interesting and RELEVANT.

I hope this helps. Good luck to you.

    Karen and Gary,

    Thanks for the great feedback.

I definitely feel you Gary. I just need some outside eyes and criticism to help me get my site and it's content on the right track for people want and need. I am looking to make some positive changes to my site. You comments are much appreciated.

Your question is about getting visitors - which has little to do with appearance - it has to do with content and backlinks (links from other websites to yours).

To start with, take a look at this report on your website: https://websitegrader.com/site/www.kevinjhouston.com

Next, figure who you want to target, and work on getting links from sites that your target audience already visits. For example, start with: https://www.selfgrowth.com

Once you get visitors, you'll want to keep them on your site, so all the good advice you're getting about content/layout is vital to have in place before you boost your visitor #s.

    Hey Kevin

I like the list of changes that a person might be able to choose from there along the top of your home page. But it might be nice to make them into links- maybe to your "join me" page? While I do like the idea of showing the beautiful family picture I think I would like to see an endearing shot of just you on the home page and maybe the family picture on the about page?
