Business Website As A Magazine Site: Thoughts?

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
We just overhauled our brand & website. Instead of opting for the classic "who are we", "what do we do" and "why you should use us", we decided to develop a website that has the look and feel of a magazine website. The idea is to use our blog to keep the homepage updated and fresh all the time.

The site has been live for about two weeks. It's mostly in Dutch but there's some English copy as well. I'm interested in how you experience the site (look, feel, navigation, content). Thanks in advance.

The site is here:

I think you are absolutely on the right track. In other words, I love what you've done with the place.

I'm not fluent in Dutch, so I can't speak to the content itself (and clearly that's just as important). I'm guessing the content is mostly how-to articles and tutorials designed to appeal to your target audience? And you are acting as a resource to them, rather than simply pitching your services?

Otherwise: The overall look and feel is great, and it seems you're effectively communicating with your customers (or would-be customers) in a fresh, relevant, constantly-updating manner.

Could you allow people to view your site as either English or Dutch?

You could make better use of your HTML title tag: include a phone number and/or city name. It'll help both SEO and visitors arriving for the first time.

    Otherwise, it looks nicely polished.

    Jay,

Could you explain a bit how exactly we should use the title tag for phone number & city? Or link to a relevant article somewhere?

    Thanks in advance,
    Kristien
