Catchy Name For Massage Therapist

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I'm looking for a new name for my massage therapy business. I'm wanting something about well being, wellness, but nothing too new age. I've been in business 4 years and still haven't come up with a good name.

I'm currently using my own name.
I want a catchy name that says I'm therapeutic as well as knowledgeable in what I do. I currently offer neuromuscular massage, swedish, hot stones, deep tissue, energy movement, raindrop essential oil treatments, etc.

Also - does your skill set tend to be better for solving a particular sort of patient's problems (for example, weekend warriors, geriatric, dyslexia, etc.)? If so, become the go-to person for that niche.

This all goes back to basic marketing...

What is your USP (unique selling proposition) ? Until THAT is defined, you're swinging in the dark as far as a name change.

Four years and you're still in business? Congratulations! At this point, I would pay more attention to generating more business and a name change is not necessarily the answer.

    How about:
    1.) A web site
    2.) Testimonials from satisfied customers
3.) Referral benefits from EXISTING customers steering a new customer your way
4.) Some form of loyalty card to keep new customers (something like 12th visit free (when you have an opening))
5.) Introductory offers to get new business
6.) Flyers in beauty shops, health food stores and some kind of commission for referrals from operators
7.) Join the Chamber of Commerce and get active
8.) Donate a massage session to charity auctions (you'll also pick up business from members of the organization)
9.) Pick up a copy of "Guerrilla Marketing"

Here's a tip: I get massages regularly. My masseuse was out of town and I found another in the phone book to fill in until my regular person returned. I paid for the regular hour, but the new person spent an hour and 45 minutes. She told me that there were areas where I needed some further work and asked if had to be somewhere or if she could continue until she worked them out. You guessed it, I changed masseuses.

I got to know her, told her I was in marketing and talked to her about her overall plan. She confided that she always schedules 2 hours for a first time customer and her retention rate for "first timers" exceeded 80%. Or, put another way, her conversion from first timers into regular customers was 80%.

Use innovative marketing techniques to get new people to try you and then KEEP 'em...

    Good luck !

I'm also looking to change locations from going to working for a hot springs spa to on my own and in a whole different town 30 miles away... So thus the reason for a name change. I'm actually starting a whole new business. I am hoping to specialize in the therapeutic end of it.
