Want Press Release Distribution: Cheap & Effective

Posted by Anonymous on 30 Points

Has anyone used the PRweb service? I've looked the $80 deal but have two questions, too bad, they don't have an email contact for inquiry.
Q1:
"Reach more than 250,000 RSS subscribers and 30,000 blogs", how credible is such claim?

Q2:
"Detailed analytics available in ALL packages",
Has anyone used it and if so how good it it?

And of course if you've used its service is it worth the money?

Any similar service? Or even better assume this one is credible?

Thanks for your time.

Not too sure if it's relevant to the questions asked, we're a start-up that has a Simple and Free note-taking, study tool software for college, middle/high school students.

On the whole, PR Web is not going to be a do all/end all for what you want. But for $80 (or even if you did their $360 most expensive package), it isn't a lot of money.

The way to get PR is to know the media that are important t your business, write a press release targeted to that media, and send it directly to the editor. Cheap, effective, but takes time and effort to do.

You're right in the sense that for the long haul, yes, go the route you mapped out, however, let me put it this way, the PR web route is a short term 'shock therapy'.

I just don't about these huge numbers,
250,000 RSS subscribers and 30,000 blogs, even half would be good if they are real, $80, $360, not hell lot of money, but I want every penny to be well spent!

    Thanks.

Unless your press release is targeted, your release will be in the large pool of releases that everyone else is sending out. Perhaps a keyword or two will trigger someone's interest, but odds are, if you're not known before sending it out, you won't be better off afterwards. You're much better off focusing your effort on one or two schools, getting a high install base, which turn into a fan base, which turn into some strong word-of-mouth.

Hi thank you all for your inputs and excellent thoughts. It's now clearer or confirmed with the thoughts that I had before...

I don't intend to do just one thing or too many of them but rather a few things with a focus.

    Once again many thanks.

    Don
