My company will celebrate our 15years anniversary next month and they want me to come up with a unique promotion for our bakery & restaurant? Can you help me find a tag line and promo?

Being in business for 15 years is wonderful for you, but your customers don’t really care. In some cases longevity = trust, but in others longevity = boring. So rather than creating a tagline for celebrating 15 years of being in business, focus on why people would want to come to your business next year, and the year after that. Is it your family-friendly heart-healthy wallet-friendly cuisine? Is it the romantic atmosphere where everyone gets privacy and can hear themselves talk? Focus on why people keep coming back year after year, and soon you’ll be celebrating your 30th anniversary.

Jay took the words right out of my keyboard. Celebrating an anniversary -- whether it's 5 years, 15 years or 150 years -- is inward focused. You are the only ones who care. Your customers don't show up because of your age.

If you want to promote the bakeshop/restaurant, focus instead on the reason people like it ... the food quality, location, atmosphere, or whatever. That way you'll get them for the right reason, not just because you're old.

Consider a 15% reduction in prices for the actual 15th anniversary date, or offer specials (with a great price) for the month. Go back 15 years--what were the trends then? This was pre-Internet age, gotta be something that is interesting and meaningful to your communty--play that up, along with the great products, food, etc. that keeps your customers coming back for more!

    Best of luck,

marketbase: I don't get it. Why would you reduce your prices because you are suddenly a year older than you were yesterday? Are you trying to remember what it's like to not make any money?

I think it would be nice if you give freebies or extra food to the 1st 15 customers who can show pictures of them eating in your bakery/restaurant for the past years...Just my opinion.
