When shopping online should products be shown as individuals or is there a need for a more colours tab?
i have recently moved jobs and in my old job there was constantly new product to make the site look fresh, this meant over the season a rang could launch with 50 products and end the season with 250.
In my new job they only get 2 product drops a season so the chances of the site looking stale to returning customer is quite likely. becuse the range is pretty small they have every different colour variation of the same product as seperte.
for example - 1 polo t shirt is available in 6 colours, so they show as 6 seperate products on the site.
my question is from a users point of view is this the right way to go??
Or with some creative merchandising you could make the site look fresh with a main product image that rotates through the colour variations??
thanks
Brad
