Define "a lot" of farmers. If you are talking a few dozen, then the marketing should be more in the form of 1 to 1 contact. Call, email, or mail each one to let them know of your services.

If more, then the important part is to find a way that is most cost effective to get the information about the business to the people who could use it. Figure out what a farmer would want to hear about your business. Then look for a vehicle that can get the information to as many farmers as possible at one time. If there is a trade magazine or trade association for farmers, perhaps there is a newsletter you can put a small ad in it.

Peter, Thanks for your answer. I will use it, but have more questions to ask. I'm new in this game and don't know whether I can just go on, or do I have to start over again.

I am from South Africa, staying in an agricultural community. Some friends and myself started a earthworm project which I believe is the answer to organic fertilizer for the crop-farmers in our area. We use the earth worm excrement (manure/droppings?) as fertilizer which is excellent. Some of the farmers already used it with expectional results, but most of the rest use chemical feritilizer. They used it for years and know what to expect. Because farming is so expensive in South Africa the farmers are sceptical to change from chemical to organic fertilizer. Although the organic fertilizer took longer to "kick in" than the chemical product it is almost half the price and it rectify the soil and bring back all the positive insects which will help the farmer. I want to change these farmer's minds. Do you have any fresh ideas how to market this product.
