Here's a better one...offer free loser dog training devices. I have drawer full of them!

Call your local paper and have them publish your grand opening in the events section. Should be free. Give a run down on the company so people are aware of the grand opening event.

You should draw attention by having balloons and maybe a big, blow up dog costume, with a friend in it that would interact with the clients and outside pedestrians. You could have a grand opening cake for dogs. In the event spot state that the cutting of the cake is at 2pm, for instance. Offer a coupon so that everyone who visits for the grand opening will come back for a trial grooming. Also do some kind of refer a friend promotion.
