How To Promote A New Radio Station

I am starting a new alternative radio station. Looking for ways to reach my targeted base of men and women ages 18-24. I am concerned if I overly advertise I will lose fans but if not enough promotion I will not reach enough listeners. I am looking for advertising and promotions for 1st 6 months

    BE at lots of events and places where your potential audience is
    Be seen be heard be involved
    Get out and become part of the community you want to listen to you
    Think about supporting the right charity
    Be visible
    Do outside broadcasts
    Go to your audience do not expect them to come to you or find you.
