How To Increase Magazine Advertising Revenue

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
Hi, I have been running a magazine for a couple of years (Side View Magazine, www.sideviewmagazine.com) and now stocking it in shops, boutiques but I need to know what strategies to implement to increase Magazine Ad Sales and subscriptions.

We offer freed advert spaces, run competitions and do email marketing already.

Are we on the right track or do we need to take a more aggressive approach?

Instead of our trying to reverse engineer your target audience definition, why don't you tell us? Who is your ideal advertiser? Who are your best advertisers now? What are the selection criteria your advertisers use to decide which publications they'll include in their media mix? What cost per thousand are they paying? Who are your main competitors? What do you offer that they don't, and vice versa?

Same kinds of questions for subscribers.

You might want to do a SWOT analysis from the perspectives of both your advertisers and your subscribers.

Hi, thanks very much for your responses.

Our ideal advertisers fall in the fashion, lifestyle industries - beauty brands like Mizani, L'oreal, fashion brands, independent designers, high street brands

Our advertisers now are independent fashion designers, fashion brands and jewellery designers

We are working on increasing readership now and also distribution/retail channels.

Not sure I understand what you mean by 'You can print 50k more copies and not pickup an audited readership that agencies require'.
