Best Practices 4 Post Purchase Elearning Series

Looking for best practices for post purchase education on how to use new product....how do you offer up basic how to vs more advanced features?

currently using an email series driving online with tips and how to video's ....want to figure out how customer can identify themselves as an advanced user...and deliver them the more advanced features.

any advice? or case studies or best practices?

    one option is to create an account on www.youtube.com and produce a series of "how to ..." videos for your customers and prospects.

    For segmenting by skill level, I'd create a landing page that offers 2 or 3 simple options -- each for a different skill level. If there's any question about what each skill level includes, you can have a few short bullet points so people can properly classify themselves and select the right one.

    Then when they select the skill level that matches theirs, you can take them to a page that lists just the videos, tips or downloads that are right for that skill level.

    We did something very similar to this for a client recently, and we even used the same segmentation options (and visuals) in an email message, so they could link directly to the page that is just right for them. It worked really well ... and even generated 15 unexpected new upgrade sales/conversions (from a mailing list of about 200).
