What's the purpose of the website? You need to get the key message and call-to-action right up at the top of the homepage. If you expect people to search for it (by scrolling or clicking), you're going to be very disappointed.

My guess is that your bounce rate is sky-high ... because site visitors can't figure out what to do next, so they just hit the back button and move on to the next thing.

You may need to go back to the basics: What's the purpose of the website? How will you measure success?

Once you have those questions answered clearly, you can design the site to accomplish the objective.
