Hotel Target Marketing - Flight Arrivals

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I have an upcoming interview with a hotel, if I can present a great idea to penetrate new markets it will really impress.
(ie: Scandinavian tourism in Thailand has potential). They gave me one tip - look at
- no. of flight arrivals from a particular destination
- size of plane
- population density of that country

Any ideas for marketing ideas/campaigns - based on this tip?

Thanks,

    Hello,

You could suggest to them to invest in a plan to determine where the people on these flights are booking their tickets and create a co-marketing campaign with these companies.

There are frequently advertisements in-flight for hotels (TV and in the printed media), but a large % of these will have already booked accommodation.

Understanding the customer profile here will be key in determining which co-operations will show the highest success rates, by understanding purchasing habits (from a travel agent, from an airlines directly, from a website offering multi-airline searches etc.).

You can then determine which portion of this population would be most likely to respond to co-marketed based on their fit with the hotel's customer profile.

I am happy to discuss further. Please contact my by clicking on my profile name above, and using any of the methods listed in my profile.

    Kind regards,

    Ryan

Certainly you don't have any control over the size of aircraft an airline uses.

Might be better to look at the DMCs (destination management companies) and see who they are promoting.

Hire native speakers from popular tourist countries to be their visitor concierge. Offer a wealth of related country-of-origin help: menus, hotel information, tours, access to doctors, etc. Then, develop a marketing plan based around something like: "See Thailand Your Way".
