How Have Customers Attitudes To Retail Changed?

Basically need to know and understand how customers have changed with their attitudes towards retail. What impact it has on a shop and its reputation? Thanks for your help.

    This sounds like a student question, and we don't do student's homework.

    If this isn't homework, please be more specific: what retail establishment, located where, targeting which people, with what historical sales figures, etc...?
