Topic: Website Critique

Please Evaluate Our Website!

Posted by MaggieK on 250 Points
Hello,
We recently re-designed our site and would love your critique.
The website if www.i4a.com
Here's some of the areas I'd like feedback on:

Navigation
Layout
Design
What's Missing
How can it be improved
What stands out - both good and bad
Does the Home Page clearly state who the intended audience/market is and what the company's product/services are?

Would love to hear any feedback. If there's something I didn't mention above that should be re-evaluated please let me know. What should be urgently changed/removed? And what works - what's the best thing on the website and should stay?

Thank you again in advance for your critique.

    First take ...

Took me too long to understand which software segment you are claiming to lead in.

It is NOT clear who the target audience is, what you're selling, or what unique and important benefit you offer. I get that it's software solutions of some kind, but that's about it. (I did poke around enough to figure out that it's for association management, but it's certainly not obvious on first glance.)

Also, the site would benefit from some memorable graphics. What you have there now is almost like white noise or elevator music -- meant to be not noticed. And to make matters worse, it changes every few seconds so that I'm wondering what it is I'm supposed to notice.

I haven't spent any time exploring the site, but the homepage clearly needs some help.

I score the "the marketing effectiness" of sites using an algoritm that examines 50 variables including traffic rank, inbound links, moz rank, etc.

Your site scores a 61 out of 100. Average bad is 40-45, 70-75 is good, 80-85 great, > 95 phenominal.

Send me an e-mail if you are interested in more data and recommendations.

Thank you. [email address removed by staff]

Thank you all for your comments and critique. I will incorporate changes that reflect your feedback and post update for another review, if you do not mind.

Did anyone have problems with Navigation? We do not have drop-down menus but rather hyper-linked objects within the pages. The only direct links are those on the right column but there's much more information hidden in pages that's not identified right from the home page menu. For example if you click on Smart (learn more) then you are take to a page where we have a brief description with a bullet list of features our software provides. Do you think we should make these easier to find - create a navigation bar either on the side or along the top with drop-downs or is it not too difficult to find information?

Thank you all very much again for the critique and information.

    Best,
    Maggie

    Navigation is fine.
Improve your title tags and CMS page names (instead of using ?pageid=)
The key problem is that at first glance many people won't understand: AMS, CMS, your target market (where located, size), examples of your work, and comparison to your competition (why/how better).

Thank you everyone. I'll work on updating the site and implementing your suggestions. I'll re-post once done so it can be reviewed again.

Thank you again. I really appreciate everyone's feedback.
