Sounds like the first thing you need is a good, solid strategic business and marketing plan.

For the immediate problem you face, perhaps a sign at the end of the street point towards your showroom, advertising what you have for sale? With a showroom, terms like "free entry, no obligation to purchase" can work well.

The key problem though is that buyers are not even looking for you. You need to put in place an integrated marketing program to target prospects so the first thing they think of when they need new furniture is your business.

    Good luck with that.

Target high-end buyers: new/remodeled high-end homes, new corporate renters, home stagers, high-end designers, etc.

Consider hosting an open house, with invitations directed to the above prospects, also include municipal officers (if possible, post advertisement in the town/city hall, library, etc.) and local businesses, chamber of commerce, state & local economic development offices, local media (radio, TV, print). Develop a tag line for the business, something alluding to "Behind the scenes " location that also includes something about "furniture for the discriminating buyer"...

Since you are a high-end retailer, you could target interior designers. Offer designers special pricing, bring them in to conduct workshops on the latest trends, and open the workshops up to consumers on another night. Also, don't forget about public relations--you can position yourself as an expert with the Style Editor.
