Marketing Ideas For Insurance Sales

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am working on my 2011 Marketing plan and need some new, fresh ideas. I want to start marketing locally (Queen Creek, AZ), and getting involved in the community. Any advise on what gives the most bang for the buck, or what kind of "out of the box" advertising works well? Thanks for all your help!

While insurance is not an essential, it is required by law in most states. I understand that insurance is last on the list for most people, but it is still necessary...even if you just carry the absolute minimum. People that shop around can often find insurance cheaper, or realize that they are over insured and can lower their coverage. Most people I speak with are shopping because they are having financial difficulty, they aren't just cancelling their policies altogether. I need ideas to reach those people that are shopping...

People crave information. Give it to them without a prerequisite or sales pitch. Tell them why insurance is important and site examples. If there's a insurable event in your community, share with others how they may best prevent the same thing (fire, flood, etc.). You can do this via Letter to the Editor, guest commentary for your area news outlet and social media focused on your area.

Allow people to learn to trust you and your information. When they like you, they will be more apt to give you or transfer their business to you. Let them know you are there to help them with advice -- and maybe even insurance coverage.
