Targeting Rich People Through Online Marketing

Posted by Anonymous on 100 Points
We provide complimentary and alternate health information and services through our website. We recently launched an online service that is targeted to high income group individuals. However, my existing efforts to get them through Adwords or Facebook Ad yield no good results. What is the proper approach to target affluent people using online marketing techniques?

Put your ad in places where rich people go. Facebook and AdWords put ads in front of everyone, no matter what their income is. But if you buy banner ads or similar on web sites that focus on rich people, then you may do better. For example, affluent people are often investors, so putting an ad on a web site for these investors may get you in front of affluent people (though it is not at all telling you whether they would need your health care services).

An alternate may be to not try to get in front of affluent people, but instead try to get in front of people who need your services. You could do this by putting ads on sites that cater to people looking for information on alternate health services.

Note - the more specific your target audience, the more you should expect to pay for ads or leads.

    Dear Kumar,

As Peter mentioned, you need to focus on websites that cater to your target market. Basically find out what websites your target audience visits and then advertise there.

Now if a bunch of these sites happen to be sites with whom you might not be able to afford to advertise directly, you might want to do some additional research on the smaller ad networks.

Many consortia of websites often have an ad network which will allow you to place PPC / CPM ads on these bigger or more expensive sites.

    Hope this helps.

Are you providing services for a region? If so, focus your message locally: targeted newspapers, magazines, membership groups, etc.
