Launch Event

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
i am helping this charity organisation that helps people living in poverty with their marketing strategies.
The charity is launching a campaign at the start of next year and i have been assigned to look into how we can promote the launching of the campaign

Any ideas on how the launch could be promoted? PR ideas would be welcome as our budgets are not all that big for above the line promotion

Your PR strategy will really depend on your fund raising activity.

In general, I suggest a combination of local traditional and social media to publicize your events and inform the public about it. The most important thing is to remember to go to where your audience is. You can get "creative" with which editor or blog you pitch if your event is food-centric (you can go to the food editor) or similar. Otherwise, you'll likely want to stick with community reporters.

I'm confused and in reading you literally -- you are marketing to people in poverty status.

So, does that mean you help this level of people start a biz?

Or, assuming what Gail states-- what exactly does the org do to "help" people in poverty status?

the best advice I was giving in promoting a nonprofit is to find your media sponsors first. They'll get the word out!

Who are you marketing to? What do you want them to do or believe as a result of what you communicate to them?

Once we have that information, we can almost certainly help you. Without that information, we're shooting in the dark, and the chances we'll actually be able to help are slim.
