What's The Best Practice To Increase Conversion On Site?

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
What is the best way to increase conversion and traffic to your site when launching a new site? We just published some lessons learned on increasing conversions to 10% and improving the traffic in just a month. Wanted to ask if people have any other lessons to add to these below:

Thanks!

If you are launching a new site, anything will increase conversion and traffic. When you start with nothing, anything and everything you do will increase traffic and conversion.

And 10% might be terrible or great, depending on a number of factors. If you only get 10 site visitors and sell to one of them, you have 10% conversion, right? Can you maintain that rate when you get 100,000 visitors? Can you afford to generate that kind of traffic?

Here's a free seminar that addresses conversion and how to increase it: https://www.marketingprofs.com/marketing/online-seminars/226

Split test (https://www.google.com/analytics/siteopt) -continually improve your website based on what works.

Agreeing with Jay's input, do split testing. Of course it is best to test one element at a time. I suggest you test your basic offer, be it price point, next step for more information or whatever your customer feedback suggests would further motivate them

    Dear Dmitry,

What kind of conversions are you looking for? What's the goal? Sales? Opt ins? Downloads? Limited time trials? Video views? Blog comments? I'd appreciate more information.

    Thank you.
