Tracking Mentions In Print Media

Posted by stranger on 250 Points
Guys,

Can anyone suggest a reliable service to help track mentions in print media? Unfortunately and not surprisingly, we are also on a very limited budget.

Thanks,

S.

Google News Alert is going to be your most budget friendly option. Other services are quite costly for many.

    Gail,

    Thanks for your response.

I use google alerts, but wanted info on tools that can help me track mentions in print media.

I know services like Vocus help do that, but the cost is a problem.

    Thanks,

    S.

BurrellesLuce was the standard for many years. Not sure if it still is.

    Steve,

    Thanks for your response.

I've heard many good things about BurrellesLuce, but, again, the cost is a problem. I doubt I can find what I want on a budget though : )

I'm afraid you're not going to find a non-pricey service for this.

    Markitek,

    I think you are right.

Newslibrary.com seems useful to a degree.

What's the purpose of tracking these mentions? What's it worth to the client? I'm guessing it's just "nice to know" information that's worth very little. Maybe that tells you something.

    Note that NewsLibrary.com IS a low-cost solution -- it's only $199 a year for up to 500 articles. That's 40 cents per mention.

    The URL is https://verify1.newsbank.com/cgi-bin/ncom/NewsLibrary/ec_register.

You all are right -- lots of good resources out there, but most charge a bundle.
