New Company Website Comments & Suggestions Please?

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hello All,

We are leading offshore software-outsourcing provider based in Connecticut. Since 2002, we have been providing software development services to many clients based in US.

Recently, we have developed new version of our company website (please see below link). If you have any suggestions as to how we can improve the website more professional and appealing, please let me know!

Please also grade both websites from 1 to 10.

Current Website URL:
https://www.techno-soft.com/

New website URL:
https://www.techno-soft.com/underdevelopment/

All comments/ideas welcome.

Cheers,
Hans

New site is clearly more professional looking than the old site. If there's a problem with it, it's that the pages look like there's a lot of copy, and it's not easy reading because the lines are long -- lots of words on a line, so many eye-movements to finish a line of copy.

A great solution would be to add some graphic interest -- pictures, line-art, diagrams, color variation, anything that will provide eye candy and a relief from what looks like a lot more copy than it really is.

Completely different subject: Why do you focus so heavily on the "offshore" feature? Is that seen by your target audience as a benefit? Why not disclose it once and then stop reminding them over and over that some programmer in Bangladesh is going to be working on their project? Let the "offshore" thing be YOUR secret sauce, not something that might be a negative for your target audience.

P.S. I just went back to look at the site again, and I would lose the Flash in the header. The constant movement is distracting, and it doesn't do much to punctuate the benefit of working with you.

I'd just put a static banner that nails the positioning benefit, and lose all the distracting drivel.

My feedback comes from our two attempts at offshore (India) software development. Both were poor experiences with different companies (each with a web site explaining the virtues of their success) and each project had to be restarted and completed from scratch in the US. The frustration level was high, quality was low, and costs were not low enough to justify a 3rd attempt.

I recently had a conversation with a company that has successfully used offshore (India) services. Their secret sauce to make it work was having their US person on-the ground in India. They say it isn't perfect but it now works.

This site, along with most offshore (Indian) sites, lacks graphical excitement and eye path. I was told by two Indian developers working our projects - get your graphical work done in the US. My two experiences were proof of it, and so is this site. It lacks a personality and only scratches at WIIFM.

It appears to be targeting a techno person instead of decision-maker.

The CEO's message "Why Offshore Software Development? ", along with the overall voluminous site content, seems like a college term paper. Good points (3 good and 8 not good) but I felt overloaded and saying "no - I'll look elsewhere" (like the Philippines)

The testimonials are a big support - they should be salted throughout at those "points of pain in the buying process.

(Aside: you seem to have some spam postings on your Facebook Wall and a bad link in your location in your FB profile)

Don't tell me initially about .NET, JAVA, and PHP - these are skills that I may or may not understand/care about initially. What I do care is what you specialize in (healthcare?), how you guarantee your results, and why you're better than other custom software developers. Outsourced isn't a primary benefit - and it may also be something I don't value/have negative association with.

I would use larger or bolder type to make this text stand out more:

"Technosoft is an offshore software development company with stringent quality control and a proven software development delivery system. We are a Microsoft Certified Partner, an ISO 9001:2008 certified, CMMI Level 2 appraised company, and IBM Advance Business Partner. We offer quality offshore software development services at affordable prices."

Other than that generally agree with Michael, new site excellent improvement.
