How Long Before We Do Not Notice Things?

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I heard that after 90 days, we become accustomed to something and do not see it anymore...like a sign or a dead plant... the idea is we need to add color or something to get noticed again.
Can anyone help me with the source of this> I thought it was a Westinghouse study???

What do you expect to do with the information? Is there an indicated action, or are you just curious as an academic exercise?

I am looking for the specific data to use as a quote in marketing audit services. One pf the benefits of an audit is a neutral party examining records, and an objection from prospects is they are already aware of the issue so why pay for an audit. We assert that after period of time ("X" days), they no longer see the problem.
I want to quote the time correctly and provide reference to where the data came from.

Anyone out there who has heard the statistic that we do not see things after 90 days, or am I dreaming this up?
