What Am I Missing Besides A Blog?

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Any SEO marketing experts could probably tell me this - what else am I missing besides a blog at this point?

Esthetically - how do you like the colors and navigation flow?

I'd start with a crisper message on your home page. Start with the question: who specifically are you targeting? Where are they located? What can you do for them that their existing IT department/consultants can't?

(Aside: I'd also get a better template that doesn't mention Jub Jub Interactive in the footer)

As a web designer I'd like to make a few observations:

I'm not real fond of the color scheme that you've chosen. Red and orange just don't seem like colors associated with IT. Also, the photo in your header doesn't say anything about what you do. It tells me you're located in California and I don't think that's what you're trying to sell.

I noticed that you have your body text bolded on all of the pages except for contact us and testimonials. It is very hard to read body text in bold. It's very harsh. If you click on your contact us page, you'll see that you can instantly read the text better. Bold should only be used for headings and subheading or call outs.

Not to be offensive, but your site has an amateurish look to it, which in turn will have an impact on how viewers view you.

I also noticed that you need to proofread your text. There are quite a few errors in grammar.

The logos, etc. that you are using on the left side of the page are very blurry which again gives an unprofessional look. It looks like you copied it from someplace else and then after you pasted it into your site, you made the image larger than the original was.

Your services page has a lot of text. One good thing that you've done is insert sub headings within this text which helps break it up. Most people will not read this much text. One way to help with this problem is to have a paragraph under each category and then have a "more" button that they can click if they want to find out more about that particular topic. Most people skim websites.

On the left hand side of your pages, you have a watermark image that is pretty busy and takes away from the text on top of it.

I think that your navigation is just fine and your contact page has everything that a client needs, so good job there.

    Hope this helps.
