Can I Have Your Suggestions On Our Site Please?

Posted by Anonymous on 500 Points
Hello Again :) My company launched phase one of our sites in April this year. One site is for recruiting original artists https://www.zejomusicmakers.com and the other is for buying and downloading the music as a home listener https://www.zejo.com. We are currently developing a search engine for genres on the zejo.com site (I mention the search because it's the first thing you will notice) and part of my remit is to make the 'shop' site more sales oriented.
The new look site will be launched in three months, however, can you give me some feedback on the sites as they are now.
thank you
Lesley

I would make zejo.com the main site with small ads, paragraphs, buttons etc placed everywhere leading to the artist enrollment site/page. IN other words, these should be one site instead of 2.

I think it is very cool and a great idea! The overal look and feel is easy to navigate. Plus, by putting the focus on zejo, you will attract the listeners...the primary source of revenue. They can pass the info onto their band friends, etc.

You may want to consider advertising on a national radio station (Clearview Communications) as well as music stores and music websites. This will catch the eyes of local bands and get them pumped to upload their music.

You're on to a potential goldmine if it takes off. Make sure you protect yourself by having some kind of statement in the agreement that you are in effect acting as an online promoter, and if record companies want to deal with someone, they come through you, or you get a % from the band as a finders fee.

    Good job! (merge the sites).

Feel free to contact me if you require professional assistance (just click on my name).

I think a search function would be good. You do have a link at top labeled search, but that is really just a listing of artists. Some way to enter a name of a song or artist and have the computer see if that exists would be good. Maybe not needed yet, but as you get more artists signed up, it may be needed.

    Lesley,

My first response to your previous list of questions went like this.

    lesley,

just taking a quick look at your website it appears that the format, and message you are trying to communicate is being lost. I think you have an interesting concept but you need to define the subject of music makers.

Let's begin with the thought of WHAT is a Music Maker? or what type of music maker are you looking for? Are you looking for all music makers or are you looking for certain genres of music makers, i.e., Classical, Rock N Roll, Rapp, Hip Hop, Soul or Gospel. Having a joy of singing and writing I have a lot of friends in the music business and I know a lot of people fit into the music creation process. So who are you looking for specifically??

Are you looking for MUSICIANS, PRODUCERS, RECORDING ARTIST, SONGWRITERS, ARRANGERS, etc, etc.

There are some things I think your website could use more of but I'll comment on that later. I'll let some of my other compadres chime in who know the website concept idea better than me. Also the more important your question is to you the more points you apply. Sorry to say but when our experts see a low point value they figure it's not that important to you and I'm sure this question is very important to you unless you've got a lot of money to blow on useless websites.

    Lesley,

    My second response is:

I would most definitely merge both sites. Closing out the first site above and merging it into the second site.

I think your second site has more potential but I would most definitely agree with you on launching another site. Based on who your target market is (see my question above) I would design the site to reflect the backgrounds of the target group.

    Musicians
    Songwriters
    Singers
    Bands, etc, etc.,

will all respond to a different type of website image. Right now your site is not contemporary, pop recording artist friendly but that might not be your market. Please provide me with some feedback to my questions above so that I can offer my 2 (deutsch Marks) worth. Thanks. Is there anything else I can do for you?
