Direct Mail List

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am offering a specialized service in my local area, probably suitable to only a few hundred prospects. I have found some decent sources of very specialized direct mail leads, but they all seem to require a minimum purchase of 5000 names. Is there a list provider that will pull local names off multiple lists and compile them so I dont have to buy 5000 names off each of 5 or 10 lists?

If you know it's only for a few hundred, then you should know who they are, right?

You could probably either generate the list yourself of find a non-competing company that would share the list with you.

While direct mailing lists are great for a wide variety of people, you may not be one of those people suited.

If you know the places you want to contact, I would recommend making your own list. That way it is concentrated, and you don't waste resources and time sending your marketing to those who wouldn't be interested.

You need to look at your target market carefully. If it is only suited for that many people, it may be best to get all the contact information through good old fashion research. That way too you know the information is up to date, and you also can follow up easier. Yes it is a little bit more work, but it is always worth it in the end.

I agree with hunter.maurissa. This doesn't sound like a good time for buying a list. More efficient to just go right to a sale process - find each contact yourself and contact them as you feel appropriate (send a personal letter, phone call, etc.).
