Tag Line/ Slogan

Posted by a_daily_deal on 125 Points
I need help with a tag line or a slogan for an online discount/coupon email company.

This company sends out emails to subscribers with discounts and coupons from the local community i.e. restaurants, spa's, gyms etc. to the local public.

Please let me know if you need anymore details, thanks in advance.

It would help if we knew:

    a. The name of the company, so we don't repeat it in the tagline.

    b. A clear definition of your primary target audience, including where they live, their habits, practices, attitudes, awareness, beliefs when it comes to products/services like yours.

    c. The competitive set. Who else is in this space, vying for the same customers?

    d. What unique benefit promise you deliver that will make your customers prefer YOU. Are you trying to reach the advertisers or the consumers? Which is your target for the tagline communication?

    e. What do you want to communicate with the tagline? What's your USP, value proposition, positioning or unique WIIFM?

    f. Where will the tagline/slogan appear? How will your target audience learn of your existence?

If we have answers to these questions, we can definitely come up with a tagline that will do what you need done.

P.S. There's a little overlap in the questions above. Don't let that throw you.

    a. The name of the company, so we don''t repeat it in the tag line.

    A Daily Deal

    b. A clear definition of your primary target audience, including where they live, their habits, practices, attitudes, awareness, beliefs when it comes to products/services like yours.

Anyone who has subscribed to the website looking for discounts on local shops in the midwest.

    c. The competitive set. Who else is in this space, vying for the same customers?

No one else is in this space, its an online business.

    d. What unique benefit promise you deliver that will make your customers prefer YOU. Are you trying to reach the advertisers or the consumers? Which is your target for the tag line communication?

I am trying to reach both advertisers who want their business on my website because of the traffic I bring in and consumers to buy the products/coupons that are advertised.

    e. What do you want to communicate with the tag line? What''s your USP, value proposition, positioning or unique WIIFM?

I am not sure what I want to communicate... I have the best deals, something catchy. WIIFM is that they save money and get to possibly try new places/products.

    f. Where will the tag line/slogan appear? How will your target audience learn of your existence?

The tag line will appear online, business cards brochures. I have an small audience already, its growing and growing everyday.

    I hope all this helps.

No one else in your space? How are you different from Groupon, Living Social, Amazon, Entertainment Book or any of the dozen new copycat companies that are cropping up every day?

Since most of these competitors are national in scope, you may want to take a micro-local approach as a way to differentiate yourself. Use your subscribers' zip codes to assign them to a "neighborhood" and pitch your advertisers on the fact that you can offer them a better quality lead than the national players who are becoming famous for delivering "sampling" audience that takes advantage of the coupon deal then never returns.

If you take this micro-local approach, then your tag line should focus on the concept. For example:
    "building community"
    "your neighborhood, your deals"
    "get local"
    "don't spread the wealth"
