Movie Theater Advertising For Wrestling

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
I have read many responses to movie theater advertising. They, overall, haven't been very positive.

I'm trying to start up a small, independent professional wrestling promotion. I've been in the wrestling business for about nine years and am trying to take on the responsibility of promoting. I'm trying to think of different avenues for advertising and thought that placing ads in the lobby and ads on the screen before the movies would be a new strategy not used before.

Thoughts?

What is the point of your advertising? Are you advertising matches? Join my wrestling "gym" & get in shape? Try out wrestling as a sport? Who's your audience? Families/Adults only? People who already consider themselves athletes? Males? Females?

The point of advertising is for matches/shows. I have a friend who works for a PR firm that can create short video clips and single-shot graphics.

It may make sense if you can target the movie goers who are most likely to attend your events. Have you asked your current attendees how often they attend movies, where, and what types of shows they see? That may help you to find more people like them.
