Giveaway Or T&e Our Products?

Posted by addie on 125 Points
Our company has recently unveiled a new website and launched a new product. To celebrate these new happenings we are debating running a product giveaway contest on Facebook or selecting 6 people to test our new product. We have a very targeted audience and have not confirmed that Facebook helps/hurts us. Our fan count is low and while we believe this would increase with the contest, stronger customer loyalty could be derived from the T&E route.

Main goals of this campaign are to increase facebook fans, drive traffic to the new website, and increase awareness about the product.

Anyone one else out there been confronted with a similar debate?

Who/where is your target audience? Facebook is much more appropriate for some products/categories than others. You might want to start by completing the short questionnaire at www.isfbforme.com .

Based on your responses, you'll get a score between 1 and 10. If it's 5 or less, you probably don't want to spend much time/effort on Facebook. If it's 5-7.5, it's a possibility, but probably shouldn't be your only/primary communications vehicle. If it's 7.6 or more, Facebook can work wonders for you.

Complete the questionnaire and let us know what your score is. That will give us much better direction with which to address your question. Trying to come up with an answer in a general case (i.e., without knowing much about the specifics of your situation) is not likely to be very helpful.

Thanks for the tip. We scored a 3.6 which confirms my notion all along that facebook is not for us. Think we will host the contest or T&E on our website and promote through FB for our current followers.
