In principle you need to get their - the kids and/or parents - attention (publicise the event), enagage their interest (visual or emotional hook), and encourage them to take action (give them a reason to buy).

The activity depends on the age of the kids you are after.

If very young, for exemple, you could super size the wacth, or an image of it, to create a visual pull and photogenic image for the local press. Give "how to tell the time" lessons for the kids and/or a branded tips/fact sheet for parents to takeaway based on your watch - to link your watch with learning to tell the time. Partner with a local child development institution to give credibility and/or charitable connection. Blitz local kindergartens, etc. with leaflets/posters so parents know when and where. Options include a prize draw, "celebrity" endorsement, balloons (not candy in case of allergies), etc.
