Q: Virtual Assisstant With E-mail Marketing

Posted by Dane Robbins on 250 Points
Has anybody had success using a virtual assistant for e-mail marketing support, e.g. list selection, flowing copy, link checking/rendering QA?
Other hangups might be finding a VA short of a programmer with light knowledge of HTML. Any suggestions or experiences?

    Hi Dane,

I have used virtual assistants for email marketing support for my business, as well as to help clients do these tasks for their email newsletters.

Feel free to email me directly if you want referrals to excellent virtual assistants - I don't mind sharing the names of the people we work with.

A couple tips... Some virtual assistants are good writers or editors, others are more into the graphic design. It's a good idea to ask for samples of work they have done so you can get a sense of whether you have similar ideas about how the newsletter should look.

Most virtual assistants are not programmers. When we run into technical issues, I bring in my web developers. We use Emmatt Digital Solutions in Canada - they do wonderful work and are always happy to help with the newsletters. They also do newsletter graphics and templates. I love working with them.

    Best,

My graphic designer is also quite good with spreadsheets, HTML, proofreading, and mailing list management. It really depends on what you need. If it's mostly executing mailings, then a graphic designer may be overkill. On the other hand if appearance is paramount, then the designer may be the most important thing.

It's unlikely that you'll find a copywriter and a designer in the same person ... and very unlikely that you'll find either of those in a person who is a tech whiz.

If you want the name/contact info of my designer, contact me via the email address in my profile. (I know she also sub-contracts copywriting and editing, and I've been very satisfied with the overall result.)
