Advertising/marketing To Hotels?

I run a two-way communications company for motorsports, and would like to expand into into the Hotel/Casino industry. I have had the systems and technology for years, but have never went after it. For the many years I have been in the motorsports scene, there are plenty of "classified" ad websites, magazines, or newspapers to advertise in that are dedicated to the field. I am not sure how to go about advertising or marketing to a hotel or casino, as no such websites exist (that I have found) where you can market your services. Just looking to be pointed in the right direction on this one, as I can't seem to find the right route.

    I think this calls for a few informational interviews with the individuals at the hotels/casinos who would actually make the purchase decisions. It might even be different titles/functions at hotels vs. casinos, or even at different hotels.

    And the advertising would need to be specific to the needs of each target audience in order to be most effective.

    Make a list of the likely candidates and see if you can get appointments for a short interview with, say, 12-15 people in your target audience. Then make your list of high-gain questions, and conduct the interviews. Don't try to sell them anything. Just ask your questions, listen carefully to their responses, and take detailed notes.

    After you've completed the interviews, step back and review/analyze your notes. You'll have your answers. And if this kind of interviewing isn't comfortable for you, pay a professional to conduct them for you.

    And face-to-face is much better for this sort of thing than over-the-phone. It shows them you're really serious about this and care about what they have to say.

    Regarding "how to go about advertising or marketing to a hotel or casino, as no such websites exist", they do exist. Use keywords like hotel industry associations, lodging industry magazine, casino management and the like:

    Also, you can create a facebook account and search for hotel and casino industry corporate pages, you can learn about the business, the people, send messages and post comments. But don't get ahead of yourself. Do your homework first, write a plan that includes your brand positioning and messaging platform. Social media is a two way sword, do it right and you will benefit.

    Hello, thanks for the responses. Phil, great questions - I'm glad you asked. First, I did mean lodging and casino separately, I view both of these venues equally as tough to advertise your product to.

    For casinos, the obvious use would be for security, and with the multi-channel capability of the radios it would be for security on every level. From security guards and gaming surveillance officers, to the dining areas inside, and even maintenance should they see fit.

    For the lodging side of things, it varies based on size and activity and even location as some lodging can be very unique base on the amenities they have. Golf courses, beach side service for example. Which, again based on activity could all definitely utilize radio communication. Internally, I see it very beneficial for the maid service and maintenance to be connected. Maids go through every room, if they notice something wrong that needs to be attended to they can quickly radio that in and someone can be on their way to fix it. How many problems do you think go unsolved as a maid goes room to room especially in a large facility simply because of lack of communication and time it takes to do their job? Also, supplies for the maid service. As they get to the end of their stretch in service, maybe they're running low on towels, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, etc. A simple radio call in for those supplies would allow the maid service to continue instead of leaving to restock. Which in return in would mean an increase of production, in a shorter time.

    For the dining areas inside of lodging, just like a casino it would be utilized. Again, it does depend on activity. Any lodging that is hosting large business meetings or conventions, feeding a lot of people and typically under staffed for these events that maybe happen monthly, bi monthly could benefit greatly. An increase of customer satisfaction will always lead to better customer loyalty - and on a larger scale such as conventions or business meetings, maybe that means they return to your venue next time.

    In closing, I think image is a huge deciding factor as well. A customer walks out of his room, tells a maid he passes in the hallway "Excuse me, my faucet is leaky and the dripping kept me awake some last night." Or, "My TV reception just isn't coming in right" whatever the case may be, the maid politely apologizes for the inconvenience, picks up her radio and calls in the problem. Immediately the lodging customer knows not only do they care, but my problem is being taken care of, and being taken care of promptly. This example could be used in many situations. A man walks in to a high end hotel with some luggage. The frost desk radios for a bell hop. At first is it not expected because the bell hops may not be visible, but also the customer feels special - like he is being taken care of. I think that is a goal all lodging aims for.

    My problem is getting this in front of the right people in an advertising matter, which is why I'm here.

    look people like both hotel and casino. if hotel is on one end and casino is on the other end of town, people have a problem to enjoy both.

    what you are doing is to bring both hotel and casino under ONE ROOF. this will solve the above mentioned problem.

    now about place.

    if you start in los angels you will have to face a taugh competition there since there are many hotel cum casino already. but if you choose a town where you are the only service provider or there are few other players and townfolks have a taste for casino, the chance of your success is high.
