Need Assistance With Presentation Development

Posted by eric_harris on 125 Points
My organization relies heavily on powerpoint presentations. Generally poorly-constructed with unattractive visuals and internally-focused content.

We have an upcoming user conference and want to stun the audience with both excellent content and slides that reflect strategic significance.

Does anyone have a recommendation on agencies or other businesses that specialize both messaging and design?

We are located in Colorado, but can certainly work with anyone anywhere.

Eric - I've coached many people to give powerful presentations (on stage and on television). While good looking slides are "nice", what matters foremost is the ability to speak with passion, and I'd be glad to help your organization as well.

I highly recommend Jay Hamilton-Roth for this project. He has coached people I know and they all give him A+. He's also been involved with TEDx speakers, so he has the right credentials.

If you want an excellent book on killer presentations, try Beyond Bullet Points, by Cliff Atkinson. The approach he takes is great, but you'll quickly see that implementing takes serious time and attention. If you plan to repeat the process many times, it's worth mastering the approach. If it's a one-time need, then just hire Jay.

We have had the same issue at my company as well. After reading "Slide-ology" by Nancy Duarte, I decided to outsource. I have been very satsified working with i3 Mixed Media (i3mm.com). Scott works fast, takes direction well and is reasonable in fees. Hope this helps - good luck!

Thanks folks. I have decided to move forward with Duarte. The concepts I discussed with them are remarkably similar to what we'd been envisioning.
