Need A Name For A Wine Club

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
We are a wine distribution company and in the process of forming a wine club to attract a club membership where they get advance notice of new vintages, limited vintages promotions and sales. There are existing clubs with names like Premier Cru, Best cellars, Bacchus wines on the island so need to be fun, and subtly refer to a premium club. A logo has to be developed so needs to be short and impactful. We will be releasing a newsletter as well so names could be similiar.

What can you tell us about the wine company (including its name), its (likely) members, your customers, what you're known for, and the benefit to being a member?

Not sure how to reply so hope you get this...

Company is a large distribution company specialising in frozen foods, dry goods, liquour, pharmaceuticals, hair products, chemicals etc...... Wine has been included in the portfolio for one year and department is growing rapidly. I need to have a wine club for several reasons.:-
    - seperate the wine dept from the rest of the company to avoid any negative influences from the large array of depts
    - have a club to get members together for exclusive events, meet our visiting winemakers,
    - Give private villas and families a seperate ordering facility to expedite orders
-Create a fun, dynamic wine family and educate members more on the history of wine

But you haven't told us about the wine - who loves it, why, how it's different from other wines, where its grown, etc - nor the brand name of the wine.

Firstly, I regard setting up a club of this kind as a great idea. My second thought is that you should have two clubs (one of which is then an up-sell, and more exclusive than the ordinary one naturally it has more benefits and is more expensive/charged for membership).

Now you seem to have a good idea as to why you need one, and that is to cut through the clutter of departments. Your name needs to tell them that your club is distinct.

I have several ideas for you:

    "The Wine Tasters' Circle"
"The Exclusive Wine Club of Yourcompany"
"The Executive Wine Club [with or without your company name]"

I hope this helps, if you have further ideas let us all know. Gemma xx

We are wine distributors and carry wines from all over the world- Argentinian, Chilean, American, Italian etc..We service restaurants, Hotels as well as retail wine outlets. We have several private customers from the island as well as villa owners who buy privately from us. Our retail wine hop is not built yet but will be started in 2013 and hence we need to start the wine club to get our membership built up. Hope this helps
