Marketing An Art Opening At My Art Gallery

Posted by emily.cothran on 25 Points
We have always sent out cards to our client base to announce upcoming shows along with email blasts and facebook. I really want to bring in new faces to a show we are having in may and wanted to get some creative ideas. I thought about doing some postcards and distributing them at the upscale mall we are located next to. I have also thought about billboards. We usually spend around $3,000 on show cards but that does not seem to bring our clients in and certainly does not reach new customers.

How about co-marketing with someone else: a Realtor, a caterer, a winery, a jeweler, etc.? Each of you would be able to leverage your client lists to create an event that's likely to be bigger/better.

How about using the Google (Bing) display network. You would get a lot for $3000. In fact, you'd get a lot for $300. With it you can also tailor your message to your best clients to up the response rate on your emails and mailings.

The images element of the display network is still vastly underused. For you it would seem an excellent start - and cost effective too.

Invest in a new mailing list. Do NOT use billboards: for your niche and audience they'll be an abject waste of money.
