Need Help With Website Conversion

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
Hello,

I launched my website about 9 months ago. I get around 600 visitors a month mostly from adwords but I have only had 4 sales. In the past 3 months I have had 1600 views of my product pages. Any feed back would be appreciated.

Have you checked out your competition? I Googled 'gel foam bed' (no quotes) and https://www.bedinabox.com/memory-foam-mattress-reviews.html came up first. Looking at their dense copy (customer reviews mainly) and your rather sparse copy plus a wordy description (which these days should be more like a tweet) your site needs some directed copy. Nor do you have a newsletter - most people don't buy on their first visit, and if they are interested can be reminded through a newsletter.

Are you a manufacturer? Do you ship this stuff from your own warehouse? Do you have a finance scheme?

Your product pages are way too skinny on the copy. Why should someone choose your product? There are thousands of products like yours. The competition is fierce - so how do you intend tackling this in a manner that is profitable?

How well did your landing page match your Adwords ad?
How well does your product stand up to the competition? Can you prove it?

To begin with, your Twitter stream isn't set up and your Facebook page could be more inspiring.

How well optimized are your content pages for the key phrases that people are searching for most?

On top of this, how well do your pages rank against your competition?

Are your specific pages optimized correctly to allow you to rank for your keywords?

What do you know about other sites in your niche and do they have higher PR and better back linking strategies?

What other sites can you link to or do you link to?

What ad creation strategy are you using for Adwords? Could you tweak things or set up a wider range of campaigns? Do your ads appear in contextual settings or are your ads simply appearing in the main Google search results?

The questions above are really important for you to answer. There could be several reasons for the low conversion rate. Examples: Are you using targeted landing pages, or just sending everyone to your homepage? Where is the call-to-action on your homepage? What do you want someone to do if they are interested in what they see/read? Do you make it easy for them to take the next step in the conversion process? Have you message-matched the ads, keywords and landing pages? Etc. Etc.

You probably need some outside assistance with this. Trying to diagnose and fix the problem(s) yourself is always more difficult than having expert input from outside.
