Positioning Of A Critical Care Of New Born Centre

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Our setup Dr. Devesh Mehrishi ICC (Infant CRITICAL CARE CENTRE) is running for last 24 years in India.

ICC is an ISO certified exclusive Newborns & Pediatric tertiary level setup.

Unfortunately, since its origin, our setup is recognized only by the name of Dr. Devesh Mehrishi .

We want to establish our setup as a Newborn & Pediatric centre regardless of the doctors working.

Kindly give us your valuable suggestion in this regards and also suggest the way to make our setup popular in the public as a Centre.

Also, because we are the pioneer in the field of critical care, we have been tagged EXPENSIVE. Kindly also suggest the way to remove this tag.

Let's start at the end. Why is the term "expensive" bad? To me it speaks of outstanding care and quality. There should be a way to use this term to your benefit.

I presume that Dr. Mehrishi is about to retire? In any case, younger doctors will be taking up the reins. However if you are known through his name, it would be a pity to lose it - even if it implies that you're expensive. Removing it could be an expensive mistake as you would then be just one of the also-rans. You would find you had to start at the bottom and work up again, with all the problems that brings. Your clinic would no longer be the oldest and best, it would merely be the newest and least well known.

Then the parents arrive at the new facility and say "but this used to be Dr. Mehrishi's establishment - what happened to it?" and be confused and perhaps even disappointed that they would no longer get his special care.

Can you see my point here? Before I make any further suggestions, could I have your feedback on this, as you are on the spot and I am not! I hope that some of my thoughts have already been considered and that you can give me good reason for doing what you intend.

Well true, i know of that aspect being tagged as expensive. It does work in my favour. But the real concern is, everyone wants to talk to me and meet me and not other doctors in my panel. Just want space for myself and not be me who is indispensible

I can understand your concern. Plus as a leading doctor, you have several "students" who have excelled under your tutelage and whose expertise now equals yours.

Perhaps you could be "Dr. Devesh Mehrishi and partners ICC"

Perhaps you could add their names too? "Mehrishi, Patel and Shankar* ICC" (*The only two names I could think of off the top of my head!)

It's your name that people know, after all. Whilst the others are not well known, they could easily become so. Perhaps if they did more public things that got them into the news - and they would be seen as being an important pillar of your establishment.

What are your thoughts on this? Was this kind of name something you had considered?
