Ribbon Cutting Event Eyewear Ideas

I represent a retail store that sells eyewear and I am putting together a ribbon cutting ceremony. Any creative suggestions?

Any scissors that look like spectacles? If there's time you may be able to have some made up?

Have everyone wear glasses/frames.
Have the ribbon imprinted with an eye chart.

Thanks, but the store doesn't do eye sight checks, so I wouldn't want to use the eye chart and give the wrong impression. Clever idea though. I really want something fashionable, edgy and hip as the store sells high-end eyewear. Perhaps something to do with Elvis Costello...

I think if you're selling high end, you definately have to keep it edgy. I wouldn't suggest any cheap decorations, etc. Maybe a Champagne reception/red carpet approach. I'd include a promo give away that you could also then convert to some great PR.
