I did a project to find out the gap in the local distribution channel of Hindustan Levers Ltd., for their new product which is a soft candy.
In this project, i covered all the retail shops in the city with my team, collected their responses as to find out how often in a month the distributor comes to their shops for collecting orders. I found out that the delivery van of the distributor for the area doesn't come to the retail shops all that often and thus the company looses a substantial order of the candy.
so in the report i wrote that the gap lies in the local distribution because of the inconsistency of the local distributor, in visiting the retailers.
Now i want you to tell me whether the method used in accessing the local distribution gap was right? if not then what method should have been applied?
