Best Content Alert Platforms

I'm looking for suggestions for good, customizable email content alert delivery platforms. They don't need to be free but they do need to be able to allow customization from users based on frequency of alerts, ability to choose alerts by topic, etc. Currently managing a Wordpress site which uses Mailchimp but moving to Jive and I was wondering if Mailchimp is the only option?

    I'm clearly not the right person to respond to your request, but I might suggest you call the folks at MyEmma.com and ask them. They are super helpful and seem to know their stuff. If they can't deliver what you need, they can probably point you in the right direction or offer other suggestions.
