Creative Name For Sales Training

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
I am in need of a creative name for our Sales Training program. We are a subprime auto finance company. I created a sales new hire program. I call it Sales New Hire Training...Boring!! I want a cool name like Jump Start or something unique but fresh out of ideas. The training consists of basic sales skills, value and sales model training, programs training and technical training. I also teach them planning & preparation, territory mapping, SalesForce, Overcoming Objections, how to rehash and structure deals.

Any ideas????

What is the objective of the "creative name?" Who is it for? Or are you trying to fool the new hires into expecting something different than what they want/need? What's wrong with "Sales Skills Mastery" or something like that?

Most of the time when you try to get too cute it backfires -- when your target audience realizes that you're distracting them from the real essence of the product and substituting something that's more amusing than meaningful.

My objective is to make a course name that is more interesting than Sales New Hire Training. My content, curriculum and activities are solid. This is a one week course that is designed to get our new hires ready to be successful in the field. There are no smoking mirrors involved. Just simply looking for a better name for the program.

More interesting for whom? I think the new hires would want to learn how to succeed. Management would want to know their employees are given the tools to succeed. Who is the name for? Accurate and descriptive seem more important than "interesting" (to someone).

I love those suggestions!! You are correct in that it should describe the course and its objective from both our leadership and sales perspective. When I said "interesting", that is what I meant. The name will be used for the course. Recruiting will use the name when describing the course for new hires and the leadership team will use the name. I want it to be the starting point for how the begin to define their career in sales at our company. Also for it to signify their beginning here. Hope that makes sense. I certainly appreciate your time. Your suggestions and comments are spot on.
