You need to let the customer know who you are, what you have to offer, and why they should get it from you. You need to express to the potential customers how they will benefit from doing business with you. How you do that will depend on how you're interacting with the customer (in store, social media, website, brochure, etc.).

By satisfying all of your customer's needs (both real & perceived).

You don't *convince a customer to buy* so much as provide information so the customer can reach his/her own decision. Of course, it is really helpful if you understand what the customer needs/wants, and how the purchase decision is made, before you start providing a lot of irrelevant information.

When you're giving potential customers all this information, make sure to do it in the way in which the customer thinks and speaks about the product. That'll resonate within them and enlist their emotional forces onto your side to help rationalize the decision to purchase, so their logical side can agree.
