Advice On Creating Schedule For Online Promotion

Posted by calestelken on 250 Points
I have an interview for a marketing communications position. My skills primarily lie in graphic design/visual arts, so it's a bit daunting. Prior to my interview, I have to develop a mock visual promotional concept for a coffee brand tied in with World Water Day, for social media, a website, and an e-newsletter. I then have to create a schedule of how to disseminate these communications.

I think I can create a logo and corresponding advertisement piece, but the scheduling part is tricky. Obviously, World Water Day is key. Any advice/suggestions would be greatly helpful. Remember, this is a mock promotion.

Thank you.

I am envisioning this as a launch of a new brand, with planned launch on World Water Day?

The goal of the schedule would be to have the information get out in time for the World Water Day, but not with a frequency that would turn people off.

For most products, getting information out starting 4 to 6 weeks in advance is a good time to start. But you would not want to send information to any one media more than once (or at most twice) per week, or you risk turning people off and causing them to unbsubscribe/unlike your page.

..and don't forget to continue to share the news after the launch, reminding people of the connection of the theme to your offering...

Thank you for the feedback. That sounds wise. The assignment reads "Create a schedule for how you would disseminate these communications

The budget for communications is $0.  We have subscriptions to all media outlets."

I honestly don't have a good way of pinpointing how one would schedule this sort of thing. I suppose the emails and social media postings would all be sent out in advance of World Water Day?
