Difficulties Using Analytical/reporting Tools?

Posted by singhdeepa3103 on 125 Points
What difficulties does a marketing/eCommerce analyst face while using analytical/reporting tools?
  • Posted by Jay Hamilton-Roth on Accepted
There are a wide variety of tools and needs.
What information are you trying to obtain?
  • Posted by mgoodman on Accepted
"Analytical tools" can encompass a lot of things. You pick the tool based on what you are trying to learn, what the expected use of results will be, what kind of data you have, what baseline data you're using, and who the ultimate client/decision-maker will be.

And the difficulties are often specific to the tool you're using.

In my consulting practice, the most common difficulty is that the client has not clearly defined the objective or considered how results of the analysis will be used. That makes it hard to figure out how to approach the assignment.
