Dissertation Survey - Society And Social Media
3/25/2019 at 3:23 PM ET
I am a Business and Marketing student at the University of Lincoln, UK, currently working on my dissertation. The title of my dissertation is
"Society and Social Media -a critical evaluation of the effectiveness of social media marketing against mass marketing in spreading socially relevant messages".
In the course of this, I am doing primary research in the form of a survey to analyze the impact of a campaign with a socially relevant message on buying behavior.
It would, therefore, mean a lot to me if you would consider taking part in my survey. If you have any criticism, ideas or comments beyond that, I would be delighted to hear them!

Given that one purpose of the survey is to evaluate an Iceland campaign, I'd suggest you ask that question immediately and disqualify participants to avoid skewed data.

Do you have any reason to believe we represent the universe of (potential) Iceland shoppers who might matter to your client?
Important that you carefully define the objective of the research, target audience, and expected use of results. Your biggest challenge will probably be getting enough qualified respondents at an affordable cost.

Done. Good luck to you ...

first of all I thank you for your quick response and your open criticism. As I enjoy open conversations and I think we as humans benefit greatly from being challenged in our ideas and conceptions. But make me be clear on one thing: Iceland is NOT my client. The company and I are not in any sort of corporation and my research has not been influenced by them in any form. I do not receive any form of payment or information of this company. Nor would I want to. The topic of my dissertation solely rests upon interests for our society and how we are going to deal with high problems such as global warming. This is my passion and my purpose, and I assure you it can and never will be bought from a company. What my purpose with my dissertation is, is to raise awareness and to analyse how people feel about these issues. And as many of the survey questions are hypothetical it does not matter for me if you are a hypothetical Iceland shopper, but how you feel about these issues addressed.
As I said before, I really do enjoy the critics, but this dissertation is done without company influence and examines moral standards which is, indeed, my own personal agenda. To be honest, I feel that companies do not indeed do enough to address social and environmental issues that consumers care about. And I DO feel that we as marketers, CEO’s and such are responsible for the social impact we cause.
Thank you very much for your response!
And a special thanks to everyone answering the survey

And I do apologize for any mistakes in grammar and such. I am an international German student, but I do hope to be able to bring my message across accordingly.
