Diito on wooing the gatekeepers - although gatekeepers are paid to be cynical and, well, to keep a lot of gate. If you can get under their radar they'll escort you all the way to the boardroom.

Another way is to get an intro from a peer at another company. So play dominoes, make one sale, get referrals to other people they know who may need the same service.

Then it's not a case of persuading the gatekeeper, now you're riding on the back of an endorsement or high-level recommendation (OK, name dropping) from someone your new target/prospect knows.

Someone whose opinion they may value.

Never, ever leave a satisfactory sale without asking for referrals to other Prospects. It's a brilliant way to trombone-out your sales prospect list - and to get a wider, less leaky funnel (with apologies to Hugh).

BTW do you know anyone else who could use this kind of advice?

    Good luck...

    Chris

I could tell you about prospecting, networking etc. but you probably already know how to do this or have heard enough about it and how you should do it.

What I think you will find even more valuable is to go to Promo Magazine's website at

    https://www.promomagazine.com/

After you've read all the great information here, you can go to their "Ask the Promo Pro" Forum at

    https://promomagazine.com/ask_promo_pro/index.htm

It offers a great online vehicle for promotion marketers to communicate with experts in the fields of event marketing, couponing, sampling and international promotion marketing.

Think of it as a Know How Experts specifically for promotional premium/products industry!

Post your question there, or it may even be already answered in their archives.

    I hope that helps.
