How To Write A Project Plan?

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I have to write a project plan for an advertising campaign.
I have no idea where to start?

I have tried to break down the work needed and estimated time for each task... although I find it a bit confusing.... knowing which parts that can be parallel etc.

Also my report has to include planning of the implementation, time, manpower and resources. It also has to include leeway for errors and events.

The finished report has a word limit of 2000 words.

I can probably manage to do some kind of Gantt Chart for the tasks although I am not sure at all how to organise the report.
In how much detail of the breakdown of tasks is needed?

What should you do first, second... and so on.

I would be very grateful if someone could help me with som advice on how I should organise this report.

Many thanks :)

    Hi Diana,

How much time do you have? How important is this to your career?

If your answer is 2 weeks or more, I would buy or download Microsoft Project, and do the same with "Microsoft Project for Dummies" or a similar easy book.

You can also download the trial version here:

    https://www.microsoft.com/office/project/prodinfo/trial.mspx

You can also probably pick up an older version quite cheap on eBay.

Why? Quite simply because it works and it isn't that hard to learn enough to make your finished product look great and for you to look stellar.

    I hope that helps!
