How To Brief A Client?

I am an Art Director, working with an Ad agency. I want to know that how can i brief (sell) my idea to client. Is there any type of printed material required or presentation.

    How did you get the job as an Art Director without knowing how to sell your ideas to clients? I would have thought that would be the first requirement.

    This doesn't compute. Where are you located? (What country?) How big is the agency that hired you? Do they know you don't know how to sell your ideas? This is scary!
