What Is Point Of Purchase Advertising?

What is the definition of Point of purchase advertising? How effective is it as a last frontier for sale? what are the tools involved?

    POINT OF PURCHASE ADVERTISING...
    is at the point where you actually pay for the item you are purchasing you will receive additional request to buy-more.

    IT'S THE "M" SPOT...(THE MONEY SPOT)...
    where the greatest level of impulse buying is done.

    ONLINE...............
    it's at the place right before you press yeah..."CLICK"! That's when they tell you how you can get these "lovely add-on's" that are so irrisitable you just gotta have it! Plus with your purchase you get two or three new "Free" items that only an ignoramous would walk away from without purchasing.

    you are at the cash register in a grocery store, a theme park, a concession stand or hmmmm..."ah haa"...Inside your head you think--------"YEAH!"---------- that's what I need!!! or you're thinking out loud to yourself----"I really gotta have that, it really looks good!!!" It's that something extra you notice as you are about to pay for books in a bookstore but your attention is caught by something right around you in the space where you are about to make your final puchase at the point where you pay for your goods and then you pick that item up and your purchase has just expanded. That's the power of "The point of purchase" advertising. Yeah that's it! Is there anything else I can do for you?
